There are no specific prerequisites for entry into this qualification. However, the Australian College for Excellence (ACE) requires applicants to meet the following criteria:

• Be at least 18 years of age when the course commences
• Have completed Australian Year 12 or an equivalent qualification
• Have an IELTS score of 5.5 or equivalent
• Have suitable language, literacy, numeracy and digital skills
• Successfully complete ACE’s LLND assessment
• Have the physical ability to participate in practical carpentry activities and manual handling tasks

Additional learning or English-language support may be recommended where required.

Students undertake practical activities using industry-standard tools, equipment and materials in a supervised workshop environment.

Students must demonstrate competency in all required units to receive the qualification.

After completing this qualification, students may consider:

• Higher-level construction management qualifications

Approved credit may reduce the course duration and Confirmation of Enrolment period.
