Applicants must:

• Be at least 18 years of age when the course commences
• Have completed Australian Year 12 or an equivalent qualification
• Have an IELTS score of 5.5 or equivalent
• Have suitable language, literacy, numeracy and digital skills
• Successfully complete ACE’s LLND assessment
• Have the physical ability to undertake practical trade activities, manual handling and lifting

Additional learning or English-language support may be recommended where required.

ACE provides access to industry-standard tools, equipment, materials and practical training facilities.

Students are expected to wear suitable personal protective equipment and follow all workshop safety requirements during practical training.

Students develop their skills through supervised practical activities that reflect real or closely simulated construction-site conditions.

Students must demonstrate competency in all required units to receive the qualification.

After completing this qualification, students may consider:
